Founded in 1921 on Hamilton Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Steele Canvas Basket Corp. began by making rugged canvas products for New England’s coal and textile industries. The family-owned company is now led by second-generation brothers John and Paul Lordan.
Steele moved its manufacturing operation to Wilmington, Massachusetts, in 2023. From its Wilmington workshop, the company makes industrial trucks, canvas baskets, bins, caddies, tote bags and travel goods to order. Steele states that all of its products are made in the United States.
