Ralph Lauren’s Western Cushion pairs an engraved silver case with patterned leather and an engraved silver buckle. The new 38mm model brings that treatment to a smaller watch than the collection’s earlier 42mm version.
Its square case has rounded corners and an aged finish that emphasizes the engraving. The design draws on the decorated belts of the American West.
From a belt to a watch
In its account of the collection’s history, Ralph Lauren traces the design to vintage rodeo and concho belts that influenced a Santa Fe-inspired women’s runway show in the 1980s. Concho belts are decorated with silver ornaments.
Three dials

The black lacquer dial comes with a black strap. Off-white lacquer and natural turquoise both come with brown leather. All three combine Roman and Arabic numerals, while the turquoise adds the irregular markings of natural stone.
We’d pick turquoise for the contrast between the blue stone and brown leather.
What is inside—and what it costs
All three versions use the Swiss automatic RL514 movement, made by Piaget for Ralph Lauren. It winds itself through the wearer’s wrist movement and has about 40 hours of power reserve—the time it can run from a full wind without further winding.
The official specifications list a case measuring 38 by 38mm and 9.3mm thick, with sapphire crystal over the dial and a water-resistance rating of 50 meters.
Ralph Lauren’s U.S. suggested retail prices are $26,000 for black or off-white and $29,000 for turquoise.
