About
Americana Gecko
Americana Gecko is an independent editorial platform covering American culture, American companies founded and owned in the United States, and their products that are truly MADE IN USA.
What Truly
“Made In USA” Means
Trust begins with telling customers exactly what they are buying. Under the FTC standard, a product advertised simply as “Made In USA” must be all or virtually all made in the United States. Its final assembly and significant manufacturing must happen here, with little or no foreign content.
Labels such as “Designed in America,” “Assembled in the USA,” “Made with domestic and imported materials,” or “Imported with American components” tell a different story. They may be accurate, but none means the entire product was made here.
Customers should not have to search through fine print or patriotic advertising to understand that difference.

Label Recognition
When a company proudly displays its MADE IN USA label on the exterior of a product, we highlight that detail in our articles with a close-up image of the label.

Johnny Protestant® grew from a love for Jesus Christ and the United States of America, along with the belief that clothing and design should carry meaning and purpose.
Founded by
Johnny Protestant®
Americana Gecko was founded by Johnny Protestant®, founder of Crosses and Stripes® and creator of Saint Gecko™. The American luxury fashion house was established in November 2016.
Americana Gecko extends that commitment beyond fashion. It gives us a place to document American manufacturers, independent makers, cultural releases, and products that reflect the country’s ingenuity and character.
The two projects share a belief that origin matters, American workers deserve recognition, and the story behind a product should be told honestly.
